I'm currently an undergrad college student in NY state studying environmental science. I've studied in the islands a bit on study abroad trips and just fell in love with the islands and ecosystems.
I've been considering going USVI for grad school. Has anyone attended or know anything about the school? I don't know if living on or off campus would be easier/cheaper? I know I want to study and hopefully find work down there.
Would it be a good idea to take a trip down there to plan? Also does anyone know what the aquatic ecology field is like down there?
Let me know! Any info helps! Thank you!
Tessa

Absolutely - it would be almost the height of foolishness not to visit and see the campus(es) and the island(s) before making a decision. I'm not familiar with the courses offered between the St Thomas and St Croix campuses but that should be easy to find. Good luck!

We have a young relative who was undergraduate at UVI St. Thomas in Marine Sciences and went on to get a doctorate at an excellent university. On-campus living was very convenient for classes, diving etc. However, if you want in-state tuition, you have to live off-campus for some period of time. There are quite a few rental properties in the area of UVI, but you will need a car. I do not know if any of the UVI graduates have been hired locally, if that is what you are asking.
