Are vespas and other 150cc scooters street legal on st croix?

Vespas also come in a 49cc size, which is not only street legal, but also can be legally parked on the sidewalk. (I know. I have one. But not here. Shit, man. Have you SEEN the potholes?)

I wouldn't recommend a scooter unless you have quick commutes. I'm sure it's possible, but people are bad drivers and the road are narrow and in disrepair. I considered it before moving here, but once I was here, I threw it out as an option.

I second that bit about twisty roads and bad drivers. I would also recommend a lo-jack or GPS tracking system of some sort. My Vespa LX50 that I keep in the States weighs around 250 lbs and two big guys with a pickup could steal it in less than 5 minutes flat.
