The movers are coming Friday to ship my belongings to St Thomas- any last minuet suggestions on what I must have to ship to ease the transition? Maybe things like extra flashlights for the power outage- extra batteries - spare tire for the car - wife for emergency use?
Any suggestions big or small would be appreciated -I am planning on renting a furnished place so not too worried about furniture. thanks-

bugspray - that's like $7 a pop here. also, like medical stuff - tylenol, aspirin, etc...you can certainly get all that cheaper in the states. flashlights...flip flops! 😉 have fun! safe travels.

Note that he's asking what to ship -- documents and medicines are the things you will want to have with you, not on a container that may or may not show up when you think it will!!

Bug spray is a big one -- most of the other "cheaper stateside" stuff you can have shipped from CVS.com or drugstore.com, but they won't ship aerosols. There may be a restriction on that from your mover, too, come to think of it.

There was a good thread on this awhile back but I can't dig it up -- anyone remember?

Oh, here's the one I was thinking of -- it's called "I wish someone would have told me..." Great thread.

Oh yes, and since you're moving to STT, you might be able to make some good money by shipping beach chairs, since no one on the island seems to be able to find them! *-)

All beach items you could possibly like (chairs, umbrellla, cooler, cold packs, sunscreen, bug spray). I just arrived here for 3 months and I'm trying to think of things that I forgot. Paper goods like plates and napkins. Definetly candles. And a seriously good vacumn cause the battle between u and the sand does not end.
Good luck and safe travels
