Can't believe anyone would want to re-elect these same people.
Totally depressing!

Such disappointing results in STX. I can't digest how Chucky got so many votes...it's so sad. I don't understand how 4 incumbents got back in on STX. I guess people are still OK with the theft and deception.

Sometimes, I don't know why I bother to vote but guess it would be even worse if I didn't.
I hear you about CHUCKY in STX. Ye Gads! Guess all the NOISE she makes keeping people up for her LOUD party events worked.
Guess the majority of VI voters lmust ike being stolen from and having our taxpayer dollars wasted and misspent.

Glad Obama stays in office! At least, that's some good news!

Agree re: Obama. As regards Chuckie -- her faults go way deeper than loud music. She is simply not an intelligent, well-informed, curious, advocate for her constituancy. In no other place in this country would she be elected. I hope the final vote count boots her butt.

p.s. Assuming that's a joke regarding the "majority of VI voters"? I mean, it's kind of an insult, which is notable coming from a person who routinely accuses me of insulting people. The majority of the problem is a sense of hopelessness (look up "learned helplessness" ) and a lack of informed knowledge. Why we don't care more, why we can't make this island care more about things that matter ... man, you got me. It certainly isn't because we "like being stolen fron and having our taxpayer dollars wasted and misspent".

ETA: Removal of unintended emoticon.

Now we need to hold a special election "survivor style"! See who we can get voted off this island. On the ballot, those previously elected officials that are responsible for getting STX in the predicament it's currently in.

I simply can't believe Chuckie's back in. Utterly embarrassing. Russell is out, though, no? That's good news. Guy's a hack. Both as a lawyer and a senator.

It's disappointing that Chucky's back in but not surprising in the least. Otherwise, I agree it's good news that Russell is apparently out so let's not get carried away with pessimism just because one majorly destructive incumbent was successful. Why are many posters misspelling her nickname, "Chuckie"? 😀

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Best to keep the people in poverty and servitude. Easier to get reelected that way.

Welcome to the USSA comrade Rotorhead.

I adore you foodie, and you know that, but my health care costs would bankrupt even you. Health care is NOT a privilege. Go ahead, call me a socialist, I can take it.

As far as Chuckie goes ... sheesh ... isn't she a convicted FELON?!? In the states, she couldn't even VOTE. Here she gets to be a senator? After a decade of this nonsense, I still don't get it.

We still have to see how Obamacare(ACA) plays out. Some states are planning on opting out of the expanded medicare. Including the VI. The side effects of Obamacare might be surprising.

The game is changing for those with employer provided health care. Many companies are planning on dropping coverage for their employees because the penalty is cheaper than providing coverage.
"If a firm with at least 50 workers has a full-time employee who is getting federally-subsided insurance through an ”exchange,” then that employer must pay a penalty for failing to offer that worker acceptable insurance on the job. (Workers that are offered qualified coverage by an employer are ineligible for the new insurance subsidies provided in the exchanges)."
In these cases the employee will now have to buy their own insurance.

Penalizing Low Income Households
ObamaCare provides strong incentives for firms to avoid hiring workers from low-income households. Eligibility for subsidized insurance in the exchanges is based on household income, and firms can be penalized if one of their workers gets subsidized coverage in an exchange. Thus, firms have a strong incentive to find workers who won’t qualify for subsidized coverage, which may also lead to invasions of privacy. For instance, a restaurant might find it better to hire young waiters from upper-income neighborhoods, as opposed to low-income areas, because they would be less likely to qualify for subsidized insurance in the exchanges. ObamaCare therefore is penalizing the very households it was supposedly passed to help.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/30-percent-employers-drop-health-coverage-because-obamacare

Obamacare requires everyone to purchase insurance or pay a penalty through the IRS. This has the effect of forcing younger, healthier workers to subsidize the costs of insurance for older and less healthy people. In the past many healthy young people who were starting out could take a chance in their healthy years and not purchase insurance, no longer. In most cases the younger healthier people will not take advantage of the insurance. Back in the USSA.

BTW. I will benefit from Obamacare as I make under $200,000 per year and am one of the older people with pre-existing conditions. It still is not fair. More of our freedoms taken away.

Chucky was convicted of misdemeanor failing to file tax returns. Not a felony.

Yesterday, millions of Americans made their voices heard in the voting booth.

By re-electing President Obama after polluters threw everything they had at him, the results are clear: Americans will not sacrifice their right to a healthy environment in exchange for big profits for big polluters.

President Obama now has the opportunity to establish an enduring environmental legacy to stop climate change, to protect our air and water, to preserve our wildlife and public lands, and to promote a clean energy future.

We are calling on President Obama to demonstrate leadership on climate change nationally and internationally. It is critical that our leaders work together to ensure a future in which all people can breathe healthy air, drink clean water, and enjoy the magnificent wild places on this earth.

But there are still challenges to face. This election season, deep-pocketed industries, including oil and gas companies, spent record sums to influence political campaigns. These industries still have significant power and many of their strongest allies remain in Congress.

The most anti-environmental House of Representatives in history remains in office and is sure to renew the attack on our environmental protections and put nearly 40 years of environmental progress at risk. With your support, we will fight back in court and on Capitol Hill once again—and win.

Earthjustice will continue to use the law and the power of the courts to counter the excessive influence of polluting industries. We will hold those who jeopardize the planet accountable.

We will fight for the right to a healthy environment for all and, with you by our side, we will succeed.

Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Trip Van Noppen
President, Earthjustice

I don't believe she is. As I understand it, she was found guilty on three misdemeanor counts of failure to pay taxes through her husband's business and was sentenced to probation. You're an attorney so I'm sure you can correct whatever misunderstanding I may have but I thought this was the whole crux of the move to render her ineligible to seek or hold public office based on not a felony conviction but the issue of "moral turpitude".
