What's the best way to get to VG from STX? Thinking of heading up there maybe as soon as this weekend or next. Best, of course, would be an extra seat on a chartered plane...

Check with the seaplane. http://www.seaborneairlines.com . They offer a plane/ferry package.

I did that trip in 6 hours flat once!
- Car from home to Christiansted
- Seaplane from Christiansted to Charlotte Amalie
- Ferry from Charlotte Amalie to Road Town
- Ferry from Road Town to Spanish Town
- Taxi from Spanish Town to Leverick Bay
The sad things are:
- You can see Virgin Gorda from STX. It's so close, yet so far.
- Other people made the trip from New Jersey to Leverick Bay in the same 6 hours, but they had a private jet and a chartered helicopter.
