Planning on a week long visit to St. John later this summer. Restaurant/Bar Manager with over 15 yrs experience seeking position on the island. Looking for affordable lodging while there. Don't want to break the bank on the visit.....saving for the move! Would like to come down and hit the pavement for work and possibly meet some local folks. Have my mind pretty well set on St. John. Looking for a true island life (smaller and less headaches than the other islands) and plan on making the move permanent. Hopefully the last move I make! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Hope to see you all soon! Thanks!

It's always great to see someone ready to do a PMV. Congratulations!
The cheapest way to stay on St. John for a short visit is at one of the campgrounds: http://www.stjohnusvi.com/camp.html -- or search for a number for Vie's campground on the East End. Definitely plan on renting a vehicle while you are there; it's the best way to see the island and get a feel for the place. That will be money well spent.
