A well connected friend told me on the weekend that Walmart is now looking for land to purchase for a store on STT. I can't independently verify but it certainly doesn't surprise me at all since they have a huge distribution center and 17 stores just 50 miles away. Has anyone else heard this exciting rumor?

Home Depot arrived in STT first, than branched out to STX.

If it’s true...

So long Kmart in the USVI

Well I personally met with Walmart reality today at headquarters for other scheduled business and they have no plans to put a Walmart in the US VI.

That rumor has been floating around for years and years... I could see WalMart coming into the VI but I would bet it will never as long as KMart is still here sadly. STT nor STX could support 2 stores like that traffic wise or spacewise especially STT. Tutu is about the only place for a store like Walmart......

It's not STT supporting a store, it's all of the BVI too. And they ship everything back at night without paying duty in the BVI. LOL

Could be a nice weekend trip. Sail over Friday, go out to eat and drink, same thing on Saturday, shop at Walmart Sunday , load up the boat and sail back a win win, Shopping done, bars and restaurants and taxis get some business BOOM!!! A win win.

Walmart would CRUSH Kmart in the VI, and rightfully so.
