just would like to give the linemen credit for their long work yesterday to restore our power after the electric pole fell. the pole fell on a jeep that was parked, made another driver crash.

wapa office on the other hand do not deserve credit-they were informed friday that it looked like it was about to go down and they apparently did nothing.

we were without power from about 12-8 not bad, but we could not drive anywhere nor could anyone else on the street. just glad there were no emergencies yesterday. and at least we could walk to town .

Its nice that you give kudos to the line men, but isn't that what they get paid to do?

Linemen prioritize their work based on the number of customers affected. When they come and take care of your localized problem, you tend to be grateful.

I agree. On several occasions over the years I've gone outside in the wee dark hours of the morning to chat with lineworkers and thank them for their speedy response to a blown transformer - and have no doubt that it's resulted in a nice quid pro quo where response to an emergency is concerned.

I THINK regardless OF WHAT JOB YOU GET PAID TO DO, YOU STILL DESERVE THANKS ESPECIALLY FOR A JOB WELL DONE. this particular incident only affected about 3 buildings that i know of on our street. it did not seem others were affected.

It doesn't mean that you cannot show gratititude instead of attitude.

When the Hurricane goes through and you are without power for a week or two (even with the jenny going) and the linemen come through you still give them a wave and a thumbs up when they come by.

Maybe people on neighboring islands can be grateful for WAPA linemen when they come over to fix lines after a devastating hurricane. I'd be grateful for that too.

But I'll only be grateful here when my WAPA bill is considerably lower than it is now. For the exorbitant price I'm paying, I just expect them to do their jobs, nothing more, nothing less.

Don't think for a minute that linemen are doing you any favors when they arrive on your street either because they're dispatched from the main office.
