Yeah, she finally arrived safe and sound today on Delta, it has been 7 months since we saw her and we missed her so much, but now she is here!
I will post the details for all to follow on the thread I started "Large Dogs to STT" ( or something like that?!)

Tonight we are elated that she is reunited with us....however, she isn't used to the hills *-)

Cheryl

Congrats on doggies arrival. be careful about giving your doggie water from a cistern. I give my dog bottled water and minerals in her food, Sometime ago a poster on this forum stated his/her dog got very sick from cistern water, I couldn't find the referenced post.

I'm happy for you Cheryl. That's great!
We too had a dog that didn't know about hills since his yard had always been flat. He could have been a chow/lab mix as well but we're not sure. He was an old dog and when he approached a hill he looked so funny with his front legs stretched out to compensate. He did great here and we were so grateful he had the chance to "retire" to the islands. He lived to be about 20 years old and spent his last years here. 😀

Cistern water didn't seem to effect him but I suppose all cisterns do not have the same quality of water.

Thanks everyone for you kind words! She is doing great, we went on a longer walk tonight and there were so many new smells for her it took at least an hour to do! The walk back up the hill is always a bad thing, easier going down than up!
She is sleeping soundly at my feet now, feet are twitching so I know she is in a good sound sleep dreaming of chasing those cats she smelled while on our walks!
