Hello everyone, was wondering how the humidity has been down there?? here is Michigan the temps have been 85 to 95 with extreme humidity. My husband keeps telling me that is what it will be like down there. I would like him to be wrong for once.

Leeann,
We have some weather most every day. Some days we get a little rain. Somedays we don't. I tell folks not to pay any attention to the weather forcasts. Get up in the morning and look out the window. You will be much more accurate than the weather pervaracators. If the weather report calls for a storm, don't worry about it unless they call it by name. The sea breezes tend to make things more comfortable here. If there are no breezes, then the sea will cool you off. I've spent the last week visiting family back here in the states and it's been a heck of a lot more uncomfortable here. Just watch the sun. It's unbelieveably intense.

Hello Leeann,

I am going to borrow my mom's words describing the heat during June-August in the VI... she says 'the fires of hell are passing over the island'. 😉 Those months are more still then the other months of the year when the breezes keep things pretty nice.

Take a look at our weather section on the sister site to this one: Click Here http://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php

You will find average temperatures by month, water temperature, average rainfall by month, extreme temperatures and rainfall, hurricane activity, todays weather and a 5 day forcast. Likely more weather information then you wanted, but its a popular topic for travelers so we tried to cover it all. 🙂 Hope it helps.

Hey LeeAnn,
Just talked to friends/family in the Battle Creek area. Sounds like the same temps/humidity as here but we have about a 20 mile wind and much nicer scenery. And the chance to jump in some water to "cool" off.

Hurry up and get down here! My kids won't talk to me cuz they found out I am not coming back north. Oh well, they'll get over it - or not!

See ya soon!

Linda

Linda, we would be there tomorrow if we could. My daughter and family are thinking of moving too, but I doubt if they could handle the fact that it will take alot of work to make the move and to make a living. Bryan & I work so hard here already that just being out of this business mess we have gotten into and living more simply will be a huge blessing. we are packing up our house and selling everything as we speak and have family that we can stay with here until the business sells. so as soon as that happens we will be on the next plane.

today is suppose to be 90 degrees again with high humidity. and no wind or breeze.

Same here in Southern Illinois.....it is MISERABLE! With the islands, leeann, you have a nice breeze...the humidity registers the same on the weather sites, but, you don't feel it the same. I'm a Caribbean girl thru and thru averaging one trip per month there for the last 3 years or so. I'll take the island heat over midwest heat any day of the week. Breezes...it's the key. When it is still, it feels just like here.
