It was a long journey from the Black Sea - in time, space, and mind - but all the flights were on time, and I arrived safely on Monday.
Wes caught me as I was coming down the stairs at IRB. It took less than one minute to file my tax forms. A most professional and courteous lady had her stamp ready and without prompting stamped both the original and the copy.
Having survived several shooting wars, two terrorist bombings - one just 30 meters away, and over 50 years of assignments in dangerous places under arduous conditions, I'm ready to hang up my flak jacket.
I feel I've come home at last.

Another near miss! If I had planned to leave Europe just a few days later, the Iceland volcano ash would have caused my flights to be canceled.
