Where at? In Seven Hills it tastes nasty and leaves rust stains on your clothes. Go with cistern.

There are several "good water" places on St Croix. Over time, wells have been drilled and water has been used. Often for agriculture, and sometimes for residential use.

I am not familiar with all of the different places. It would be interesting to hear from others regarding the quality and quanitity of their well water. I am only aware of some of the wells around the Southgate area. This is "near eastside" just east of Buccaneer and Green Cay Marina.

We have a cistern with a well as back-up. The well water tastes nasty but is potable. We live on the north shore. And iron in the well water is a big problem if you're washing clothes.

I would like to thank everyone who responded. We gardeners and would most likely use the well water as backup and for gardening.
