What schools

I'm almost afraid to ask this, because it's clearly a subject that generates a LOT of heat, based on other posts below. But I have to.

In every school district everywhere there are better schools and worse schools. I don't care if you're in New York or Montana or the V.I. Some schools, because of a principal are a couple of teachers or a dedicated parents group, will be better than the others in the same district.

So, in the St. Croix division of the public school district, which are the better schools and which are worse? And what factors is that judgment based on? I know that private and church schools are better, based on everything I've read here. But seriously. which are the public schools that are better?

Hi JohhB,

If there is any possible way that you can get here or make a separate trip in advance of your children's arrival?

Obviously, the very best approach would be to visit as many schools as possible, and talk to as many people (teachers, parents, etc.) in person as you possibly can.

Based on what I have heard and learned from people I know who have children, the private schools are absolutely your very best option at this point in time.

At any rate, hopefully some of the posters on STX will be able to chat with you or meet with you regarding this issue -- or put you in touch with people who can.

Given the importance of the situation and the choices you need to make, you are truly in need of informed people to talk to and seek guidance from.

Good luck! If all else fails, I would be happy to put you in touch with people I know on STT, which might at least give you a starting point. However, there are a lot of good people from STX who post on this board and I am sure they will be able to talk to you or at least point you in the right direction.

Best,
Mell 🙂

JohnB,

This might help or at least tell you who to ask:
