I've heard soooo many rumors....

1) Catastrophic power failure at WAPA STT
2) Workers at WAPA on strike
3) Fire at WAPA
4) Catastrophic at WAPA and to expect rolling power outages over the next several days

Who knows - and if you do, 100% for sure, could you post please 🙂

Pia

Nothing on the Source. I figured someone here would have the skinny on the "catastrophe." I wonder how many electronic devices were fried today?

Okay, TV2 says: oil leak that they knew about and wanted to wait until after Carnival to fix (?!) tripped one unit and a domino effect ensued. Maintenance!!!

Definitely a fuel oil leak that was being temporarily contained for the Carnival power situation - the plan designed to solve it didn't work today - it will likely result in rolling blackouts - the daytime usage of Govt., schools and the business corridor requires a huge KW output - air-conditioning Main Street and the Havensight Mall - but it seems that once the repairs are made it will be WAPA reliability as usual.
St John is always at the end of the distribution line and suffers for it - the old Green Hornet supplied enough of backup power until the mega villa construction taxed an already insufficient infrastructure - perhaps the socially aware developers on STJ will decide to build their own modern power plant that will sustain the demands of the condos, villas, and other structures they ask the STT plant at WAPA to supply.
