It's SAINT Croix, salt.

Before we moved down here we often referred to it as "The Croix." 😎

I'll take 'STX local history' for a $1,000 Alex.

Just for curiosity does any one know why it's Saint Croix? Croix is french for 'cross', and while I'm familiar with St. Thomas and St. John (several of them actually), I've never heard of a St. Cross. Seriously odd little trivia like this fascinates me if anyone knows please share.

The Indian name was AY-Ay - Columbus named it Isla de Santa Cruz in 1493 during his second voyage - Island of the Holy Cross --- before he saw the Virgin Islands which were named by him after St Ursula and her 11,000 Virgins - the French translated this to St Croix - during their occupation 1650-1733 - [when it was sold to Denmark]

Yeah, bad Mexican here, first place I visit when I go home to Texas is a good Mexican place 🙂

The new Mexican restaurant that opened above Mollys a week or two ago is not that great either. The jalapenos tasted like green peppers 🙂

So no one likes Luncheria on STX? I thought it was pretty tasty, even if it is more Americanized Mexican.

Prob with Luncheria is the inconsistancy & food quality.
One day you can go there & it's really decent & the next time, your order is completely fubared.............

I've never had a bad meal at Luncheria...I think it's a great place (as long as the chickens aren't too aggressive that day!).

the only problem with Luncheria is the parking. the food isn't too bad for being so far East:P

Yeah, make sure you do get your fill. I did not do that before coming here (I am from South Texas) and I miss some good spicy Mexican food. I have yet to find a good plate of greasy cheese enchiladas. I have given up 🙂

Yep, ya gotta make your own. I've gotten all my Mom's and aunts recipes, I have friends over once a month for Mexican Night! Woohoo! Love it!

All I gotta say about Luncheria, is if you think thats good you've never had real mexican food, bad mex tex at best.
