Received a notice of the Governor deJongh/ Lt. Gov. Francis general meeting on Feb. 26, to be held at The New Drive Inn on St. Croix. I've never heard of it.

Juanita,
I am not positive, but there is a place called the Drive Inn on Paradise Rd., north from Centerline just before Plaza Extra West as you drive towards Fred'sted.

The New Drive In is in Grove, right on the main road.

From Centerline Rd, go north on Rt. 69, and The New Drive In is on the left after about a 1/2 mile. I've never noticed a sign out front. Look for lots of cars parked out front, i guess.

neither. Only "drive-in" spot is the parking lot...but I seem to recall a million years ago there WAS a drive-in on stx...perhaps it was there...sort of like the way a house we own is still referred to as the " 3 owners before's name" house---(by long time residents only, as we have owned it for 15 years...)

There was a drive in theater on St Croix in the 70's. I know because I went there as a teenager one time. I have no idea where it was because I was new to the island and drove out to it with a group of kids after dark, but it was there! I would think that would be the same place and like beachy said they're still using the name to identify it by.

I've heard the drive- in movie was up in the rainforest, near the smoothie stand. That doesn't make good sense, so it's probably wron, but I think it was Hazel (owner of smoothie stand) that told me that.
