Anyone know where I can find a good beach chair on St Thomas? I have been to KMart, Home Depot and Cost U Less to no avail?

I don't know, but it reminds me of the old island adage: If you find something you need, buy it, because you don't know when you'll find it in stock again.

I heard it was - if you find something you might WANT, buy it.
If you find something you NEED, buy 2 or more.

Sometimes Plaza Extra carries stuff like that. I just saw one of those sling type folding chairs today at Plaza on STX.

I have seen them at Kmart (country) but that was about a month ago. Mike and I are looking for chairs also, ours are getting old. Probably going to get the when I go back to the States in April. I wonder if WalMart has them online???:S

I find it hard to believe there really aren't any on STT, but if you want to come over to STJ, you'll find pretty-colored folding beach chairs at both Chelsea Drug and The Hardware Store for around $50 each. (They're nice chairs and all, but ouch!) Maybe Chelsea on STT has some?

KMart US probably is about to stock their stores in the mainland with beach stuff...that is when it should show up here.

I guess there is no demand to use a chair at the beach here, maybe the stores forget there were beaches here? Maybe I should open a beach store that carries beach chairs and reefs flip flops?

Great idea! My car was broken into on Tues (in a gated , locked parking lot, well, supposed to be locked) and the littl f*#%# took one of our beach chairs!!! And sunglasses! I swear if I see that person sitting on that chair, we are gonna have it out!!!!
Those chairs are hard to come by, as we know!!

If still looking for beach chairs, saw a few in Kmart in town. Downstairs among all the patio type furniture. Sorry, don't remember the prices. Hope this helps someone who is trying to hunt down the elusive beach chair. 🙂

Got great beach chairs at Kmart (Lockhart), bit pricey at 60 bucks each. OUCH But they are comfy and recline all the way!

If it lasts a year it is $.16 a day --2years $.08 a day -- with beach chairs go for quality when you can find it - it is worth the search for one that lasts, is easy to carry, comfortable and fits your needs.
