I'm thinking about taking a job in STX coming from coldhio, during research I have yet heard which side of STX to stay away from and where is good to relocate to. I've heard lots of positive commits but no real" stay away from". does price of rentals reflect safety/friendliness? or as I'm hoping its all good.

erkm - people have differing opinions on the neighborhoods on STX to seek out or avoid. Price does sometimes reflect the desirability of the neighborhood, but it also can simply reflect the size of the rental or the condition or if it has an ocean view or if it includes some of your utilities or not. You might start by looking at rentals within a 15 minute commute from your expected work place and then expand your search if you don't find something you like and can afford within close proximity. If you'd like info on specific condo properties, etc., just ask and I or many others on the website will be happy to fill you in.

Would you be moving here alone? With a significant other and/or children? With pets? These all play into the best options for you to look at. Price range is also an important factor as rental rates cover a wide array of prices.

If you'd like some example photos of some of the condo complexes on the island or other such information, you can request that by emailing me directly at [email protected] and I'll forward some things your way to help you become more familiar with what to expect within what price ranges and locations.

I manage a variety of rental properties and you can also see other rental postings in the classified ads forum on this site.
