where to stay short term

Been to St. Thomas three times vacationing with my family.
I am graduating from college in a couple of weeks and thought I would check out the island in June to see about living here for a year or so before I starting teaching in the states.
I have food service experience and probably look there first for some type of job.
I am more concerned though about short term living arrangements with a monthly budget of about $600 - $700
Any suggestions would help.
On-line I have found the Villa Fairview has had good reviews -- any thoughts?

Villa Fairview is a great starting place. The owner will answer your questions. You will get a good idea of island living there.
