Hi Everybody,

Thanks in advance for any answers you might have.

Trying to understand the winds in STX (maybe one of you weather bugs can point me somewhere else, i've been searching for days with no definitive answer).

Do the winds in STX tend to come from the South East? Or do they tend to come directly from the East? Or somewhere else? Or is it constantly changing and there is no one steady direction that the wind tends to come from.

Thank you!

prevailing winds are from the East, a little more NE in the winter, and more SE in the summer.
average wind speed is approx 11mph.

When I'm the beach, any beach, reading, they are always blowing my pages closed and not open.

The winds are... what Beeski said... but... this is the season we call 'Christmas Winds'. It is blowing like stink most days here right now (most of us kinda like it, it keeps everything cool, makes kiting and sailing pretty fun... and blows away the falling mahogany leaves.)

I'd say the winds lately have been gusting in the 20s and yesterday was up to the 30's. This will last another month or so then get back to the typical 15 that we have the rest of the year. The calmest is the summer... or maybe it just seems that way cause we want/need the breeze so much more then.

🙂
