I was just wondering if there are any wineries in USVI? If not is there wine in the stores? I'm a huge wino, and I was just wondering if I should get my fix before I move.
Thanks, Lexi

No wineries- plenty of winos and whiners! 😉 Prices may be a bit higher than those to which you are accustomed.

Bacchus just added a nice Washington State merlot to the wine list and we enjoyed it mightily at the company Xmas party tonight. Have to give them nods for that. We're waiting to see what Washington wines Zebo can add to their wine list since they've acknowledged their awareness that California isn't the only place good wines come from on the US Mainland.

You will quickly learn to make sure your red wines have been chilled a bit here. Red wine isn't supposed to be served at 84 degrees even if that is room temperature in the islands!

Wow I would have never thought about the red wine thing! But you are very right, 84 is a bit high. Good call on that, it would have taken me a minute to think of that!!Thanks again!

There was a few guys who made wine from fruits down here a couple of years ago out of fruit from Solberg Farms, I think they are the guys who have developed the Caribbean Vineyards wines. I buy it at Gormet Gallery in Crown Bay and it is really good. A Local artist did the labels. I don't think they grow the grapes here but they are local vinters and produce something for the VI. Kind of like our "local" beers. They have a website on the back of their labels.......caribbeanvineyards.com......anyway, their wine is good and you can only get it here.

I pay 13.99 in Crown Bay Gourmet Gallery. I have seen it in Food Center by the lobster tanks too but I don't know how much it is. I always look for it in Cost U Less but it isn't in there? Anyway it is pretty good for the price, you end up paying 12 bucks for a bottle of Yellow Tail down here so anything less then 15 bucks that you can drink is resonable.

Does anyone know if the Caribbean Vineyards wines are available on St. Croix, and if so, where? I saw on the website, it is distributed by Bellows, but as usual, I am looking for info after business hours or on a holiday. Thanks, and happy holidays to all.
Juanita
