HELLO:)
Any info will be much appreciated. How long does a typical school year run? Same as the states? If working in the schools as a teacher, etc. what are the typical hours for elementary, middle, and high schools?

In regards to renting, are big dogs accepted in rental properties? Or are they hard to come by?

Thanks for the insight.
Enjoy,
Moni:)

Hello Moni -

School year is typical of US, courses and school session I think follow the regulations from the federal system. So School usually starts in late August or early September runs through to X-mas, has x-mas break then runs through to late May. Graduations are usually in late May for Junior HIgh, High School and College. Schools get off for federal holidays as well as some local ones like Carnival.

Many landlords and condo associations dont like dogs 🙂 but you can find them, just need to look a bit more.

There are a couple threads on this message board about traveling with dogs - use the search feature and look for them.

Also with want to get a Settlers Handbook to help prepare you for island life - whats it like, what to expect, jobs, things to do... you can get it from http://www.vitraders.com

Good Luck.

School year is what Islander says. Hours are usually 8:30 - 3:00 or thereabouts. Depends on the school.
