Yet another Mainlander moving down in search of local help

Hey everyone,
My girlfriend and I are moving down to Christiansted STX at the beginning of Feb. She already has a great job lined up (A LMT at a rehab center) but I'm still finishing my degree (thank god for online courses) and am well versed in the bartending/service arts.. just looking for ANY good info on finding Apts. and a job ASAP.. Im having a hard time finding a rental company that is willing to work with us while we are still stateside.

Any good reference points to start at? And, of course I would love any help in finding a resource to find local haunts or resorts to send resumes out to before we arrive.

So then. Am I off base thinking I may be able to procure a job and housing before we arrive? Is it possible, but unlikely? We are looking to live there for at least two years and would love to find a long term place for when we get down there.

Okay, I'm rambling on too much.. I'm sure you've answered these questions before, but I appreciate any help you can give us..

First drink is on me..
Cheers!
Jesse

It is possible, but unlikely. And really not desirable. Book a cheap place to stay for a week or two and find a place and a job after you get here. It's scary, but it's what works the best.

The people where she's working should be able to point you in the direction of someplace to stay temporarily.

Let us know when you get here, we'll buy you a drink.
