Good Day

I am curious to know if anyone can lead us to a forum like this one, that has posts for relocating youth. We have five children 14,10,6,4 & 3 and could possibly be relocating to STT. We are most concerned for our oldest son. Personally, my mother married a Bahamian when I was 12 and we relocated to Nassau where I attended middle and upper school. The first year was very hard for me to adjust. Once I made friends life improved drastically. I was very sad when we left and visit often, having made lifelong friends that consider me more Bahamian than American. My personality and character have definitely benefitted from the experience. We'd like to duplicate the experience for our son, but he may be less eager, as he has many friends here..... I think that a message board might spark his interest.

We'd appreciate any information available

Mrs. Jeff,

The only thing I can think of is checking the private schools and possibly public schools that have websites. Some of the sites were created by the kids, maybe they want a penpal of sorts. Go to VINOW's home page then click on schools. The ones in Blue have a website. Good luck!

Teens alway complain about having to leave their friends.
Its normal. Just reasure him that whole new batch of friends and adventure await him. plus girls girls girls.
I went threw this with my daughter too. they adjust and later they are happy for the experience.

If you are bringing you children to island, I reccomend either private school or home schooling. If you work at a private school, the tuituion can be reduced by 50%--perhaps even more.
