swans- i do seem to know very few capricorns! though the ones i know (including my dad) are wonderful folk.

Thank you! Capricorns are OK people 😀
As for your question, I was referring mostly to "posters" who are living in the USVI, those who travel back and forth to the mainland, and even those who are residing off island too; as long as they are board members. Thanks!

Mr Hawking may soon be saying something different than what Steve Jobs said as he was dying."..WOW WOW" ,,,,but since (hawkings) is an atheist".. OH NO" maybe his final words.Wonder how come a world renowned physicist couldn't figure out how to live longer than 70???*-)

Poorthang,
Professor Hawking is the longest survivor yet with ALS - a progressive neuromuscular disease - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also recognized as Lou Gehrig's Disease). It is a scarring of the lateral part of the spinal cord where portions of the nerve cells degenerate. As a result, total paraysis occurs from about 3 years to usually 10 years after diagnosis. Respiratory failure eventully results in death. Hawking has had this affliction throughout his entire life and living as long as he has with it is an exception to the norm indeed.

@Poorthang - what a horrid post. Are atheists not deserving of our sympathy and caring!?

Stephen Hawking is an amazing human being - leave his religious (or non-religious) beliefs out of it. It is NUNYA bizness!!! Religion for the religious!!! leave the rest of us out of it!!!

Poorthang,
Can you start a thread of your own then, perhaps something like - "Pushback for all the "horrid" posts" and leave Zodiac for those who care to share their Zodiac Sign with us? Many Thanks,
Swan

Maybe Happy Holidays? Then we could talk about the flying noodles, like that relates:S.Zodiac is fun but not reeeaaallly science. What proof do you have it really exists? The Sign people think their destiny is determined by star alignment?Wow,now that's just crazy talk, don't ya think? What scientific evidence and blind taste tests were used to see if it works? All you wannabe scientists love a good blind taste test.!:D....Swans...You and Dave seem like sweeties so pay no attention to the man behind the curtain just keep gazing upward.,Sorry to all you Hawking fans.... but he can't solve his own problem....Maybe he should have asked for a little help.*-)

Poorthang,
Perhaps we can clarify some issues:
Zodiac Signs: The signs, each describing personality traits, yet certainly painted with somewhat of a broad brush, are fun. That's all. The alignment of stars - to which man has assigned descriptions - and which are located mega-million light years away, cannot determine human physical/ psychological traits. Horoscopes and the Zodiac are merely for enjoyment. You even contributed earllier in this thread.

Dave and Swan : not sweeties; colleagues - Notice the launch avatar?

Steven Hawking: I have maintained an interest in his search for answers to questions regarding the universe; but have also been involved lifelong in demyelinating diseases - ALD, ALS, MS, MLD,,,Leukodystrophies/ Leukcoencephalopathy. Note: I welcone you to search "The Myelin Project." Maybe you can lend some support.

Hope this helps in any clairification you may need. As Beachcomber said, "Back to Zodiac Signs."
Or do you prefer to end the thread.

@IslandHops nice to see us Leos correctly described as mighty....most of the time, people think that we are annoying show offs - LOL.

@Swans - I think that you described astrology perfectly, but....are you open to venturing a guess why so many of us do share similar traits with our fellow signs.

I know that we can self-identify with almost anything that is put in front of us - I myself, once thought that I was JR's wife in Dallas...but that just turned out to be a nightmare. However, it just seems that this uses slightly more unique and pointed descriptions???
Thoughts?

Sally,
In describing astrology and star placement in the galaxy, I only concentrated on the physical aspects as they relate to pure science. Therefore, in that context, astrology is what can be enjoyed,

Having said that, it is amazing and incredible how one can truly possess the traits as described under the Zodiac Signs! I am so Capricorn, I shock myself! And I know a Cancer who is SO Cancer, I get lost for words! The same holds true for other signs and I can never explain why. ..It is mysterious. Further, I decided to visit the Chinese Zodiac (after Rotorhead stated he was a Tiger). Well! I researched the "Dog" - who happens to be MY sign under the Chinese Zodiac, and guess what? Therein lies the description and traits of a Capricorn! You must look up your sign and compare. This is TRULY amazing.

Can anyone explain how we are so very much like that which is described under one astrological sign or another? And how we "shared signs" possess the same - or at least - very similar traits? Many people are pretty accurate at guessing someone elses sign. I do it all the time and find myself darn good at it! 😀
Swan

So,

Swans

By reading some of the posters that devulged their signs, can you see some of their traits in their posts?

I'm 98% Cancer, and about 50% Gemini, due to being born close to the cusp.

I have a friend who is a Cancer who is born just a couple days after me and they're only about 25% Cancer.

My Chinese sign traits are only about 20%, if that.
