Anyone watching the Americas Cup racing? Even though the boats are hauling butt, I miss the spinnakers and the real sailing. These "boats" seem to be science experiments. Not a fan of them

I'm a huge fan of racing technology pushing the limits and improving current "commercial" systems.

if you want to see the old "real" sailing maybe there's some nestalgia races out there to watch?

Dish/NBCSPTS channel/11&151 on STX. Be careful because they have been switching the channels for coverage. NBC Sports Channel.

It has been very good coverage and remarkable to watch. Big change in the whole venue. What technology!

In 2011 we were lucky enough to catch one of the final races in San Diego from the flight deck of the USS Midway. Really COOL!

You can watch all the action streamed live on YouTube - just look for the America's cup channel. This is one time when having a non-us IP address is an advantage. It's blocked on the mainland when racing is on TV. Suggest you check out the site cupinfo.com, which has better info and links than the official site, at times. These boats and the crews who sail them are the peak of the sport, both in technology and in skills. Sailing 3x wind speed and more is simply amazing.

On Tuesday, like a typical ausi, Jimmy spat the dummy, packed a sad, took his toys and went home after a screw up at the bottom rounding cost Oracle the race. Risky if they have any boat issues later in the series. My sister back in NZ thinks as part of the regrouping he needs to change his name to Jack Sparrow, or something else equally dramatic. I think Russel Coutts is close to making Kostecki walk the plank too. Somethings got to change.

Today (Thursday 9/12) at 4pm coverage begins for the next two races. We can look forward to the well drilled machine NZL72 making her presence felt on the course again. Go Kiwi's!

So the crew lists for today have been announced and Ben got the nod at tactician for Oracle. Poor John, the guru of San Francisco waters, had to walk the plank after all. Someone had to take the the bullet.

SAN FRANCISCO — Oracle Team USA swept two races against Emirates Team New Zealand in the America's Cup on Tuesday, completing a monumental comeback to tie the event and forcing a winner-take-all race on Wednesday.

The victory was the seventh in a row for the Americans, who have been on the brink of defeat for a week. Most thought the competition was over then, after the Kiwis stormed to an 8-1 lead and moving within one victory of reclaiming the trophy.

Now the scoreboard reads 8-8 in a competition that has lasted on far longer than anyone expected, complicating the lives of more than just the sailors onboard the two massive AC72s.

OK My first post was being a crotchety old sailor but I have grown to be excited by these cats. I cant imagine gonig 40 knots on a sailboat. I get excited at 16 knots. I'll be on the edge of my seat watching today. It just kills me though had we (Oracle USA) had not been caught cheating we would have the cup. I think we can do it!

I am still rooting for NZ as USA always seems to have to cheat to win.

I knew the tide had turned when Oracle started foiling upwind, with little leeway. The changes they made to the boat, coinciding with Anslie coming on board, certainly made the difference and the crew is now working together much better than before.
It's been painful to watch being an ETNZ fan.

Forget the -2 points. They altered a one-design boat in the AC45 series and got caught. Shame on them.

It comes down to one race for the Ald Mug.

If Oracle wins, the entire nation of New Zealand will go into mourning. It will be worse than when the All Blacks lost the cup to the springboks.
