Homeschooling Policy Update

Hello Parents

I called the Board of Education last week and ask them for an update on the new homeschooling policy. I was informed that there was a public meeting where the public got to voice their opinion on the new homeschooling document.

Now, the board is working on revising the document. That is the word. I was also informed by the lady I spoked to that she could not give a date when the final document would be made public.

I will be offering assistant for any parent in St. Thomas who may be planning to homeschool. Although right now the Virgin Islands's Homeschooling Policy is not being enforced fully, having a solid instructional program in place for your child is important and I can help.

We may be moving to St. Croix and we already homeschool. I am trying desperately to find information about the homeschool community on St. Croix, but am meeting dead ends. Can you share your experience? Thank you!!!

The homeschooling in the vi blog is no longer active. We have been off island for a while so I don't really know what is going on with new regulations.
