Green fireball meteor sighting?

Did anyone else on the board see the big, bright green 'fireball' meteor last night [4/30], about 945 pm?

From middle of STJ, was seen in the SSE sky, falling quickly E to W. The green streak I saw lasted all of a second or two, hopped up to the window in time to see the remains of the red trail fading out. Wife thought I was [more?] crazy than usual, but not the first one I've seen here, and went online 15 minutes later to a meteor sighting/tracking site which listed 5 other recent visitors from the VI [mostly STJ] and one from PR had looked at the site. Was it any of you??

It goes by very quickly, but fun to see... unlike the typical little orange streaks of meteor shower nights, this fireball was big, and very bright [kind of like a flare both in size and intensity].

Tedc,

What meteor sighting/ tracking site are you using? Would you have a link that you could post?
Many thanks,
Swan

Swan,

It's likely not the best site in any way, but started on http://lunarmeteoritehunters.blogspot.com/ , noted a bunch of recent pageviews from the VI on http://www.revolvermaps.com/?target=enlarge&i=653v55bwvr7&color=ff0000&m=0&ref=null , and read through some of the recent postings on http://thelatestworldwidemeteorreports.blogspot.com/ .

If reporting resulted in an instant dot on the map, I probably would have entered the info I did know about it... but I figured I wouldn't be back to re-visit the site to follow up a day later, and didn't want to add incorrect info as I only saw a little slice of its path, through a window. [They could make it more interesting, and more user-friendly, by having a "quick, unverified report" system which would add a faded dot on a map with the simple question of "did you see one", and then prompt follow-up of detailed info if you wanted a solid scientific view of it.]

Thank you much Tedc,

I find this sight by the American Meteor Society interesting. Fireball sightings are listed from 2005 to present. The track of the meteor is also shown.
Reports of sightings can be made to this sight.
