Who out there has kids in the public schools? Mine will likely be in grades 2-4 or 3-5 by the time we move and am looking for the skinny on the school system. Is it a good choice for kids who are very out going and like other cultures? Or should I just plan on working a second job to pay for private school?

Either way, your kids will have plenty of access to other cultures. Private schools are very diverse. Your main concern would be educational levels, IMO. But I don't have kids in either school system, only second hand information.

There are private and parochial schools (as well as public schools) which may work better for you- You can check out
Sts. Peter & Paul (Catholic), All Saints ( Anglican) There's a Lutheran School, Montessori, and Antilles (most expensive).

See this link: https://vimovingcenter.com/schools/stthomas.php

They may also offer reduced fees depending on your economic situation.

For public schools in your kids age bracket/grade level: Joseph Sibilly School or Peace Corps School (it has changed its name but cannot remember to what) would be your best bets.
