$3500 Sailboat and Mooring in Christainsted Harbor STX
For sale: A sailboat large enough to live in.
Included is a mooring in Christainsted harbor that has just been serviced by Ken's mooring service.
I was going to retire to this boat and sail around the caribbean.
It's a 1987 Hunter 28.5. the manual says it sleeps 6. I feel like two is a more comfortable number. Fiberglass. 28.5 feet long, 10.5 feet wide. Weights 7000 lbs. http://www.huntertwentyeightfive.com/
If you'd like to sail it, it needs some work, however it floats just fine. Sails included.
To sail, it needs a rudder cable, and new standing and running rigging. The internal Yanmar 2GM20F diesel engine is non-functional. It needs a water pump, alternator, and more.
Currently it's powereed by a solar panel which I use for lights and radio.
If you decide to live aboard, Jones Maritime offers showers and toilet for $40 per month.
They will rent you a slip for $15/foot per month if you don't want to dingy out to your new boat.
The dingy dock is $50/month, but you can stern-anchor your dingy right next to the boardwalk for free.
Send me a Private Message and I'll call you.
Still available.
Some people say the mooring in Christiansted harbor alone is worth $1000.
Also, I have receipts for $1200 in ground tackle installed by Ken's mooring service.

$1,000? Heck no, that's way too low. The going rate is $2,000 to $2,500. We had Ken put ours in brand new in C-sted Harbor for $2,500 in 2008, and we just sold it this January for $2,000.
Good to know about the mooring financials. Maybe I should raise the price of my boat/mooring combo. 🙂
Nobody has even looked at my boat!
I'm lowering the price to $2500. Imagine, having a paid-for, floating apartment in Christainsted harbor.
Do you have pictures of the boat, exterior and interior, also do they have internet at the slips? I had a Catalina 30 and it's just me so that would be an ok size but I need to be able to work from it.
How many hours on the motor?
DenverSteve, One potential buyer looked at my boat. He was a little short on cash though. I do have pictures which I will send now. The previous owner claimed low hours on the yanmar rebuild, but you should rebuild it anyway since a trusty diesel is a nice thing to have, and it's currently non-running.Thank you.
