Does everyone have a Jeep Wrangler or just a dependable car for $1000-$2000? I'm moving there on the 11th of this month.

Good luck with that. I keep hearing about good island cars for that price on STX but only find in the 5K and up range or they were "just sold". If you see one jump on it. The advice of getting a mechanic to check it out first does not apply, if you can't give them cash on the spot, they back off. And most get standoffish if you mention a stateside check so bring cash. Just my experience so far after 3 weeks on island searching.

Finding any car for under $2000 is going to be a matter of luck and networking.
