Hi, my company is moving me to St. Thomas to work with blind students beginning September 2015. I would like to network with others to find a room/share and also any car rental advice. I have a great job opportunity, but my pocket is light and I have concerns that I can pull it off without some advice from people there. I appreciate any and all responses.

Check Craig's List Virgin Islands. Just don't send money for anything sight unseen. You may wish to post this on the relocation message board as well as here in classifieds. What's your age?

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. My agency also helps us coordinate housing, by putting us all in contact, so hopefully something will come of that. I am a mature professional, late 40's, serious about my work with the blind and looking forward to meeting my students. The agency really doesn't need us there until the last of August, I see many options for rent now, but my schedule won't permit me to come until orientation begins. If you know of any places, preferably with 2-3 other professionals, just let me know. Even if I am only somewhere for the first 30 days until I get situated that would be fine as well. I'm sure it will all work out. Thanks for your help!

You can check with Ronnie at Crystal Palace for a temp place to stay when you arrive if you haven't found something that suits you.
Just don't rent sight unseen. Hope your company will provide transportation otherwise you may find your options severely limited depending on your work location.
