Need apt & car for student on STT

My 20-year-old son will be moving to STT in August to attend UVI.

He applied for a dorm room but just learned today that he has been placed very far down on the waiting list. UVI said there is still a possibility he could get a room, but they wouldn't say how much of a possibility. They said to keep checking with them every week.

Since classes start in mid-August I'm really afraid to not start seeking off-campus housing now.

He needs a small place with good security.
Not too far from campus.
May be willing to share with another student.
If not within safe and easy biking distance to campus, then will also need a reliable car.

He is a great young man. Reliable, decent, quiet, non-smoker.

Can anyone down there help us?

Thanking you in advance.

I heard the Island Trader is the best place to look for available rentals. Could someone please scan the rentals in the Island Trader and email them to me? Or do you know where I can go online to view them all?

PM me and I'll send my email address.

You will find an Island Trader link on the Daily news web site.

Mom: You will not want to rent anything from afar and in fact will have difficulty doing so. He may need to get here a couple of weeks early, stay in a B & B and look. Housing here is very different from housing in the states.
