NOTE: Due to the high cost of Electricity and Water I am forced to charge as each unit is separately metered. It was never my intention to charge, but with my experience my tenants are leaving lights, AC and fans on all the time!(.44 cents per kilowatt hour) On the average I use about 310-340 gal of water a month in my unit. On the other hand my tenant(s)are using 1300 gal per month and more!
The Condo Unit is still $650.00 monthly but with metered usage included in the contract.
Due to circumstances and technical issues beyond my control "Free WiFi" is not available at this time. However a cell tower can be seen on the hill west of us, and has a strong signal for a "Hot Spot" on your Cell Phone. Also Choice, Innovative and BroadBand are available as well.
I am so interested about moving to STX in 2012 (my lease here in Charleston, expires then in early spring). I have followed the forum a while and am a retired single male that will move alone, NO PETS, and seek a clean!, decent 1 bdrm 1 bath that to me has basics: washer/dryer HOOKUPS IN THE UNIT, in order to ship my "set", and not use "on site available same" laundry room, as it is so cumbersome and lame. I will ship a car - can also ship basic-whatever needed if worthwhile to do so- bed-couch, etc; and set up there in unit. Cistern water/septic is fine OR city Christiansted/Fredricksted's systems , if better for reliability and ease where they provide same. I like practicality wherever applicable. Non smoker, non hell raiser, just down to earth and love laughter and nice people. As my children are grown, and live in Florida, I am free to go as I want wherever. I did live several years in Florida near Ft Lauder dale and am not obsessed with "on the beach:" as I lived across the street from it before and either way is cool with me. Obvious routine needs for groceries, medical care, and access on a planned daily/weekly manner is best. Good neighbors, normal peace, and good hearted persons are my goals. A/C is nice too, and not the end of the world if not 24/7 access, but a natural BREEZE will embrace my soul. Views of the ocean, sand, and walking around and meeting folks is my love. I am a young thinking/acting 65 and have travelled a lot while a military career guy, and retired from that and also another career in local government as well. Never YET been to STX but think it fits me more than STT, but STT has a benefit of being closer to STJ via ferry, and also ferry to Puerto Rico. BUT STT has more hilly terrain and smaller, more tourists too. SO, STX is my preference. If there is a really good LONG TERM lease for an older guy that would stay in a great ONE spot for ???? a long time, then may I gratefully hear from you? No cons or ploys -just truth. Even if I extended my lease here in Charleston for 7 months, I would do it if things matched up. Now, I was just waiting for the recession and Congress to get DONE.
PS: A great price for what I seek in the range under $900 would be good and would consider more, depending on the place.
