Hello,

I'm bringing my 7lbs toy poodle to STT. I have temporary housing for now. Do you think I will have a problem finding an apartment that will accept pets? Also, how do people feel amount dogs on the island?

Some places do allow pets, but it's going to cut your possibilities down by about 75%.....just a guess at the percentage, but I think it's probably close...check out the apartments in the Trader at http://islandtrader.vidaily.com/, as this will give you a good idea. The ones allowing pets usually advertise "Pets accepted".

7 Lb poodle will be a tad harder find an apt. But you can do it.
Everyone here has Dogs, but won't rent to you if you have one!!! However your dog is small & cute, bring it with you as you look & melt some hearts!

Hi, I have a 60 pound dog and have never had any trouble finding a place to rent. The main trouble I've had is combating the ticks and tick fever.

they're awful! we use frontline which seems to work for our 65lb doberman mix...but not if your neighbor has 4 dogs who don't all get the same treatment. it's an uphill battle with these disgusting things. my dog had tick fever once, not pretty. also, very expensive to treat.

You limit the number of locations that will accept you. But if you look you will find something. I*t is much better to do a PMV and set up the job, the housing and the transportation. You will spend a few extra bucks but it may save you from moving back.
