May I ask a sincere question of this informed board please?

Can someone tell me the legal process by the voters of the territory forcing the sale of WAPA? Is there such a process? I assume it would take referendum from the voters to force the legislature to advertise and then sell.

I am curious to know if the voters of the Territory understand their options....if any?

Thanking you in advance for educated responses..........

Others will correct me if I am mistaken, but I believe WAPA is a public/private partnership and not subject to the will of USVI voters.

I think the place to start would probably be here: Virgin Islands Public Services Commission, but if they're anything like the other government agencies on island, you'd have to "know someone" for it to do any good. 🙁

Check back in your VI history, about 10-12 years. This was tried...but 'the people' screamed, and the legislature voted the final offer down...Southern Energy was the company. Chucky was a senator then too...and very against it...
