Hi- I am moving to St. Croix later this month and am starting from square 1. I am female, in my late 20's, will be working full time.

Is it absolutely necessary to buy a car?

Are there certain areas of the island that are not safe for a woman living alone?

Is anyone looking for a roommate starting late Aug/ early September??

Thanks for all the help in advance.

It does help to have a car especially if you work . There are some areas on the island that are better for single females, mostly on the east end were the reef is and other private villa's and condo's.

as far as your cell phone being verizon, I think you would be okay but I would check and see what areas are roaming per your plan.
I know ATT does have good reception.
Also I may know of someone that is looking for a roomate. another female professional working on st croix and looking to cut some
costs.

Hope this helps

Looking for a 4th roommate in great condo (STX)

Sorry, I don't know how to post the actual link, but if you just scroll down about 8 or so posts below yours, you will find this post. It's a nice complex. One of the roomies rented from us for a while. Very pleasant young man.

Also, it's possible I will have something available, depending on the exact timing. http://www.virginislandsrentals.com. You can check out the website, and email me if interested.

You really do need a car, in my opinion.

Good luck, and welcome to STX!
