Good afternoon, all...
I just received my 2009 Property Tax Bill, and it's much higher than the 2007 and 2008 bills.
This is confusing to me, since I understand the 2007, 2008, and 2009 assessments are all supposed to be at 1998 values and rates.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Nope, My RE Tax bill is the same amount for the years you stated. Call the LT Gov Office!

yes. I'm not sure how they are getting away with it, but one of our assessments was raised last time, and two different ones went up this time, so our tax due went up accordingly. I did call and they just told me that the value had increased (both are under construction) so that's how it is!

Our RE tax bill for 2009 exactly same as the 2007 and 2008 bills.

Beachy,
The added construction value should only increase the assessment the date of completion of the improvements. So if you just started your improvements in 2011 and completed them in 2012 the RE Tax should be the same for 2007.2008.2009.2010 and 2011.
