Airstream on St. John

Hello...
My friend and I are planning a move to STJ in November . We are having a thirty foot airstream trailer and truck shipped down for our living/driving needs. What we are looking for is any info. on a small piece of land for sale, or at the very least....rent. (help with your rent?)
Also need info. on the road tax, and if a stationary trailer would have to pay it...
As an added deterrant, this truck/ trailer combo must be able to make it to its (final?)
destination. So contour of roads may be a factor...
Thanks in advance.....
Chris

been here almost 13 years and have never seen an R.V. here. Ask islander or ronnie. there might be zoneing laws against them? I sure would not to be in one if we get a even a small hurricane. But thats just my opinion

I have seen a few. One in St John that the owners lived in while their house was being constructed, so they owned the land. Another is used as a dressing room for flilm shootings. You should scout the area and see if someone would let you rent their land. Maybe way out on the east end. I think there is one there also if I remember correctly. Vie has a campground she may let you put it on temporarily. That's out by Vie's Snack Shack. I don't think there are any laws against them.
Ronnie.

Mobiles aren't structures. They would have to ban all food vans, and office trailers too wouldn't they?

Hmm, I guess you are right...again. I have seen some food vans that should be banned!! Is that how the container bar village out on Turpentine Run has been allowed to grow?? And one "but"...don't you have to have a certificate of occupancy or something for homes?
