Antennas In Field - STX?

The other day after turning off Melvin Evans highway & going to BMV I saw several antennas on the west side of the road. I believe they're on land owned by UVI, so am guessing they may be part of some research project. They looked to be beam (Yagi) type antenas and there were about 6 to 8 of them. They all appeared to be pointed W or NW. Anyone have any idea what they are? It's easy to see them now that they've cut down the grass around them.

Thanks in advance!
