I know this probably seems like an odd question because I'm sure nobody wants to handle wool being that it's so hot down there but I figured I would ask. I started knitting in January and have taken part in some knitting circles up here in NYC. Just wondering if anyone down there knits? It's pretty popular up here but not sure how well it would go over in the islands.

It's good fun; I did it in the States. Haven't done so much down here- I honestly can't figure out what to do! Scarves and hats were popular where it got chilly, but here....eh....
I have needles and yarn that I brought from the States, so I'm not even sure where to get materials down here.

I crochet so do haunt the stores and yes, there are many knitters here on STT. Can clue you in to the stores if you like.
