Any other physicians out there?

I'm an intern (first year resident) in emergency medicine (a 3 year program), and I'm curious about job opportunities on St. Croix. Why think about it so early, you ask? Well, that seems to be the way medicine works; I started working on getting a residency spot during my first year of medical school. Also, if it's possible to work out a month-long elective on the island during my residency, I'd be all for it!

I hear that there may be opportunities for visiting doctors, and I think that would be a great way to do a PMV (after residency, of course)... and get the experience and connections necessary for a permanent position, assuming the island and I get along with each other well.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'll be on the island for a week this month, if that helps.

Also, thanks to all of you, again, for this forum. Within days of my first post, I had already met another poster in person, and I've read tons of helpful information here.
