In the past, Nazareth by the Sea offered the service at the St Thomas Yacht Club at 6 a.m.

The St Thomas Reformed church has a 6AM service at Smith Bay (Lindquist) beach. All are welcome. Some chairs are available, but people are advised to bring their own if they are able. It's a nice service, culminating with baptisms. They will be taking a free will offering, which will be donated in its entirety to the Family Resource Center of St Thomas. Snacks and coffee afterwards. Please come, and spread the word!

Thanks! Is there another one later than 6am? You guys use the term sunrise very literally here 😉

Very funny! Unlike many scheduled events, sunrise doesn't adjust for "island time".

Um, yes, because the service is held outside so you can see the sunrise. That's the beauty of it. Other churches will have Easter services.

Like others have said, the sunrise service is early because we actually see the sun rise. The St Thomas reformed church (at the corner or Crystal and Nye, a block behind Back Street) will also have a 9AM traditional Easter service. The sun will already have risen, but there'll be lots of people there who agree that a 6AM service can be a little challenging.

Thanks. I don't know that I can get my whole family up at 4:30, but I can. Is attire for the beach service suit & tie or shorts and sandals? I haven't owned a suit or a tie since the 90s but I don't want to feel out of place or disrespectful if I'm dressed too casually. Thanks.
