Anyone obtained a VA home loan STX

We are in the process of buying a house on STX and interested in taking advantage of VA financing. From our research it appears that the biggest hurdle is the VA inspection and appraisal process. Has anyone gone through the process here? If you have can you share your experience with how the process played out. Any input would be appreciated.
