How is the area near the HS on STX? Would it be considered "safe"? I have the opportunity to rent there when I first move down and it seems like a great, central location. The condo complex is gated, on 2nd floor, & has a pool. The HS is right across the street from the complex, which to me seems like a good thing. In the states, being by a school is a good thing, but I wanted to get some feedback from people living in STX. Thanks in advance!

"Safe" is a very subjective thing. Personally, I wouldn't characterize anywhere on STX as truly "safe".

Home invasions, armed robberies, car thefts and the like are likely to happen just about anywhere on STX these days and its only getting worse.

Just sayin'

There is a fair amount of crime on "condo row" - from time to time.....if I bought or rented there, I would not want a  first floor unit and I would always feel like I have to pay attention to my surroundings when parking and walking to my unit.
