Cotton valley Tower and the Catherina's Hope towers are still nonfunctional. AT&T Tech Services is a joke,Different stories from different people. Same BS every time I call, phone off/on, obstructions, weather, The towers have been scheduled for repairs for the past week.
Then we have to listen to the BS advertising, "the fastest network, best coverage, bla, bla, bla. I guess I will call again today (on Skype and BBVI). If a reliable provider built a dependable cell system here, they would dominate. Dominican Republic has way better cell service.

I called today, they are still looking into why we do not have service, but we did get a credit..... everyone should call and get the credit due them and maybe they will start taking us seriously....

My friends who have Sprint got a $50.00 credit this month for their outage ... I for one, am calling AT&T to see about a credit.

Now if we could get credits from WAPA ... oh,,, different subject/thread !

A little heads up for my Crucian friends here...

I just received a credit for my entire months bill from AT&T. (minus the iPhone data plan charge, which directly funds the growth of new bionic organs for Steve Jobs and is non-negotiable)

Saved me nearly $80 for not having service for the last week.

Feel like calling now?

WOW Jesseandhisshaker I'm not sure what you were trying to say. I've never recvd a credit from AT&T without calling so I guess since the service is now working and I received a credit makes this a good day. And... I didn't really understand the Crucian Friends part. Not only Crucians believe you should get your monies worth.

I called ATT a during the outage asking for the credit too. I wonder how and when you found out that they actually did credit your account?? Thanks -

Accding to their tech dept today, their "tech trouble" map shows every tower on StX "flagged" as having a problem.

Indicating that the problem is most likely at the network transmission/receiving point "between" networks (PR?).

Anyway....

Their tech person said to call them AFTER the network is functional again so they could determine appropriate number of days to reimburse.

A few days ago I was told by a police patrol that much of the copper (which probably means ground wires & buss bars) had been stolen from the Cotton Valley tower site. They were waiting by the fire station for someone from the tower company to arrive to file a report.

If true, the equipment up there was probably damaged by lightning during TS Irene. The same thing happened last year. Copper ground wires stolen. Lightning damage. It's a chronic problem at remote tower locations. I saw the same thing in PR.

I called AT&T and I am getting credited ... somewhere around 60.00 for both phones ... she even sent the info (txt) to my phone.

I love credits - but I'd much rather have had the phone to use.

On STJ, some areas have great service, for most it is between limited and nonexistent. Dropped calls, data that goes through hours later, etc. I know several people have already contacted AT&t and received credits, I personally am waiting until either service is restored at my house or a month goes by -- that way I can argue for a full credit of all the days of service missed since Irene.

Apparently Innovative cell phones are working great!
