Hey All,
You've been so kind in answering questions for us that I feel like this whole forum is just one big happy expansive family...* warm and fuzzy * teehehe...So anyways,
What is going on with the banking there, which banks...where and all that jazz....HELP, I am contimplating pulling all my funds out into cashiers checks and opening a new account when I get down there...What is the likely hood of a Bank O America being there???

Go to www.virginislandsdailynews.com and when you are there you can find a link to the Virgin Islands phonebook. No bank of America there is a banco popular out of puerto rico and some banks from nova scotia down there.

Bank of America would be welcome! No such luck. First Bank is pretty wide spread. They have online banking, numerous ATM's around the islands and one of their branches on STX is even open until 6 PM daily (versus 3-3:30 when the others all close). They have Saturday morning hours, too. That makes them pretty user friendly.

I would go with First Bank as well, in my exprience the service has been better than Banco Popular.
