I would be interested to know about the baptist churches on STT. We were there over Easter, but didn't find any baptist churches just riding around (ok, our system for finding churches was definitely flawed, i know!) Anyone recommend a baptist church that a young married couple with a baby would enjoy?

From the other side of the spectrum,,,,are there any UU / SOM or Unity groups?

There are Baptist churches listed in the Yellow Pages. I don't know if they're Southern Baptist or not, though.

There is a Baptist Church out on the road to Cheeseburgers (East End) - I believe that it will be the most familiar to you - it has a large percentage of Stateside transplants in the congrgation. IMHO, you would actually have to visit each church as some of the African Baptist churches would be very different both in theology and delivery.

Smilekl the places Jane wrote about are on St. Croix. You were asking about churches on St. Thomas, right?

Maybe you can find what you're looking for in the local phone book: www.viphonebook.com

smilekl: Ask and ye shall receive! Bovoni Baptist Church 775-0265. Calvalry Baptist Church 774-1759 (in Altona.) I think there is one in Tutu, but can't find a number in the phone book. Believe me, once you move here and show an interest in church, you will be invited to visit any number of denominations! Actually driving around on Sunday is a good way of finding small out-of-the-way churches. 😉
