Calls are going to fast busy signal which suggests a number of people are experiencing outages.

I love BBVI and I salute anyone who can design, install, build out, and maintain an electronic infrastructure system in this climate.

Being a Sunday my fb surfing can wait. During the week when I'm trying to make a living it's more of a frustration.

I agree. Was back online around 9:00 AM. Thanks to the BBVI folks for working so quickly on a Sunday!

I had an outage in service here in STT as well this morning.
Glad it's back on as it's a working day for me and need internet service to get it done.

Wish they would update their message when this happens.
I called early and the internet status was from Thursday, 5/16.
When I called back later, the phone line was busy so figured it wasn't my router. I'm sure they were inundated with calls.

BBVI is working on system upgrades that will eventually result in much faster speeds. This is what has been causing these short interruptions. Since the alternatives like Choice and Innovative suck (IMO), I'll stick with BBVI and continue to support this great local company.

Thanks Canuck and Alana.
Sunday morning's outage was a switch failure.
The good news is we got it fixed within 90 minutes in the most remote area of STX.
The bad news is the redundant switch config is not in place yet....frustrating for all.

The Divi Hotel had no power last night.
We have an Access Point there that you must connect to.
They have power now.

Anyone having problems tonite?
I have a connection but its 1Mb down(im paying for the 99.99 plus service).
Had simiiar issues Monday and last night as well.
Highest I've seen at night since finally arriving on island is 2MB down.

Is this normal? I thought 5Mb down was guarenteed?
I get it during he day but not at night.

Rather than posting anonymously on a message board, did you consider calling Tech support to ask them to take a look? They are there until 8pm.

Cheese 'n' bread, Beeski, are you trying to inject some logic? Didn't you know that forums are the new Magic 8 balls? For ANY sort of a problem these days (rain/no rain, 'phone/internet down, WAPA down, house on fire, somethinng goes bang in the night, etc., etc.) the VERY first thing to do is "POST IT"! Picking up the 'phone and dialing is just so passé! 😀

After getting back my phone contacted BBVI. They got a technician out 2 days later.
He replaced the antenna and a connector and ponted the antena at a different access point.
Last 2 days and nights 10-20Mb down consistently!

Rockon!

Welcome to the VI.
However after being stateside and having phenomenal speeds where ever I went, coming back to the VI and having up and down speeds,
takes getting used to.

I'm on the plus plan for 99.99 a month.
I'm also considering the dual wan router 2 service option since i require the internet for work as well.

People don't like to pick up the phone any more because it's usually a waste of time. Person answering seldom knows answer. Recorded voice prompts. Etc.

I tried calling some senators earlier this week using numbers in phone book. Not working #s. Operator no help. Had to think of another way to contact them which got me to the office I needed.

Forum postings can sometimes be quicker and may have more accurate info than somebody in VI answering a phone.
