Unless you have a loan and it requires collision coverage it is only required by law to have a minimum liability policy - that is $217 a year for my 2005 Honda as a senior citizen.

And you have to pay 1 year in advance. No monthly payments.

I believe the rates are different for under 25.

I prefer that. That way I don't have to worry about that coming out of my check every month

You also must present proof of insurance on the vehicle to register a car in your name. You do not have to have any insurance to renew or get a drivers license.

I've never had to file a claim but have had an excellent, easy relationship for years with Theodore Tunick (Marshall Sterling) who are on both STT and STX.

i use marshall sterling. we have 2 cars and i think it is around 700. full coverage on one for sure-not sure what the other has.

they do have options for a payment plan. you can do a down payment with 6 monthly payments. they use ECI or EIC as the finance people

Car insurance is super cheap in the VI compared with other areas I've lived in. In Ontario for example, insurance for my 17 yo daughter would be between $3,000 and $4,000 per year (yes, thousand, not a typo). Here its only about $570 per year and she got a discount for being a good student. Such a deal!!!

If you can qualify, USAA is the best deal there or anywhere

Some people don't even bother with car insurance. Anyone with a printer and MS Publisher can make a very acceptable insurance slip that will be accepted at the DMV. There is no inter-connectivity between insurance companies and the DMV. Drive safely.
